For several years now, The Flood has accepted rolling submissions from artists, poets, and authors making work about spirituality from within the prison industrial complex. Below are some of the best submissions we’ve received in that time. The first comes from Lydia Christiansen.

Lydia Christiansen is a poet and musician imprisoned in Waco, Texas.
Kaleb Riggs is a Yogi imprisoned in Rush City, Minnesota.
Jesse Miles, also known as “Monk,” is a poet currently imprisoned in Springfield, Vermont.
